Memory Verses

Here's a great example of WHY we so many hours & dollars are spent on the Crossroads Kidz Children's Ministry. Out of the mouths of babes...

My prayer? For the kids to come to know Jesus at the earliest of ages & develop a personal & growing relationship with Him.

happy dog

here are shots of a happy max. he's been sleeping either on our bed or with cooper. he's doing great, although i know he sure misses his papa mustache.

washable?

washable markers are great. they wash out of clothes, off walls, off tables. but not so much off people.

i ran a few errands while hunter babysat the other kids. here's what i returned home to.

hunter was the ONLY one who didn't have marker all over his body. but parker, kamrie & chloe had tried to wash theirs off before i got a photo.

no amount of scrubbing gets this much marker off flesh. he looks terrible today, like he has serious bags around his eyes & possible bruising ALL over his face. parker's marker color was red, so he looks sunburned today. the girls' faces aren't as bad, brad really scrubbed them last night. but then all night they said, "my cheeks hurt."

hmmm. i wonder why. maybe, just maybe we learned our lesson.

the kids-maybe won't color all over themselves again
mommy-store markers under lock & key if she leaves hunter in charge

maybe i'll color all over hunter tonight in his sleep just so he won't think it was quite so cute...

cooper mustache (valentine treat from the library girls)
cooper & mommy mustache-guess it's time for a wax!

cooper mustache

cooper now has his own wednesday evening activity, cross training. he's pumped. the other kids all get to go to awana or youth, he was the only one with no activity. they talked about being a disciple of Jesus last week. here's the picture he drew:
Cooper Mustache

10 hours

i just read that egypt is 10 hours ahead of us (9 for you central timers).  so dad's birthday is actually only a few hours away where they are!  happy birthday to you dad!  it's not every year you get to view the pyramids for your birthday party!

who misses who more?

we're having fun dog-sitting max while dad & mom are in egypt & israel for 2 weeks. but i'm seriously wondering who misses who more? max really misses dad. he's using brad as a "replacement" (sitting on his lap in the car, sleeping next to him or on top of him in bed) but you can tell he is a bit lost without his master. i know dad was very reluctant about leaving him for so long, so i've been sending him little email messages from max so they can keep in touch.

Grandma

Thank you to each of you who rearranged your schedule this week so that Brad & I could go see my Grandma Bond in the hospital. She had a heart attack yesterday. We were able to spend lots of time with her last night & this morning. I think it was the most I'd ever sat & talked to her in my life.

Usually there are so many people around or things going on that we're focused on. This time it was all about Grandma. We talked about everything from her life growing up at her aunt's house, to her square dancing days, to playing cards. We also talked about Jesus.

I'm thankful for the time God allowed us to visit & that for much of it, Grandma wasn't confused. Although we don't know what the next few days will bring, God does know. I'm trusting that her life is in His hands. All the days of her life were written in His book before even one of them came to be.

For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,

your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.

Psalm 139:13-16
