"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Dillan & Petska Kids

We had a great time (again) at the Petska's house for Christmas. It's always fun for the kids & the adults. I'm so thankful they let us all come crash at their house for several days at a time. Here's 1 of about 20 shots of the grandkids all together. This was the best of my photos, I'm hoping Theresa got one where they were all actually looking at the camera.

Murray

Murray, his brothers & sisters all in a puppy pile.
Kam & Murray
Brad & Murray
Murray licking Hunter.
Chloe & Murray's brother.
Little Murray.
We got to meet our little furry bundle of joy yesterday. What a sweetie.

I realize in a few weeks I may not think he's so sweet, but for now, he's adorable.

And since he's so furry...

He's Furry Murray!!

We'll pick him up next week.

Dog Names

Well, the puppy is all picked out. He'll be ready in another week or so. So the job in the meantime?

Choose a name. A good solid boy-dog name.

Here's a few from the list we made today:

Husker
Killer
Superhero Spiderman to the Rescue
Monster Truck Jam
Walt
Gordon
Newman
Alvin
Simon
Theo
Grady
Hawk
Jed
Bolt

Very creative, yet some are a bit hard to say. I'm pushing for either Walt (after the air compressor that's been sitting in our living room for months) or Newman (after my driver).

I suppose there will be some stipulations about who has the final say. Like whoever names it has to scoop all the dog-do in the backyard or has to clean up all the chewed up garden hoses.

Maybe I don't want to give any input after all.

It'll all be worth it for his super-soft furry little ears to pet (or scrub as Cooper says).

thefencepost.com

Chloe's teacher entered some of her student's artwork for The Fencepost's Holiday Contest. The drawings were "what the holidays mean to them and their families."

Here's Chloe's winning entry for the 8 & below division:

What she's excited about: the $20 check she received in the mail.
What I'm excited about: that she's learning that Jesus is the reason and the meaning for the Holiday season.

Thanks Mrs. Cupp for entering the kids' artwork.

Tag, I'm it.

Here are 7 things you may not know about me.

1. I graduated high school in 1993 with 21 classmates and to my knowledge all of us still living.

2. I changed my major from Education to Business during my 3rd year of college.

3. I have moved to another town 5 times in my life.

4. During college I worked at a hometown sports store, The Sports Shoppe, and sometimes still want to answer the phone "Sports Shoppe, this is Terri," even though it's been almost 13 years ago.

5. In 6th grade at our elementary track meet I fell down after hitting a hurdle. A friend of mine, Michelle, stopped to see if I was OK, I got up & ran & beat her. She was definitely a better friend than I was. That was the last time I did the hurdles.

6. When my dad worked as an auto-body man I loved to go to his shop. After he would fill in spots that needed putty & "shave" it off with the file I would sit & cut it like I was cutting hair. I also liked to play inside the empty windshield boxes.

7. When my cousin, Jason, & I were young, we'd play "Missing Persons Incorporated" at my Grandparent's house. We'd make up characters & plots of different missing people & figure out how to find them. It was always a happy ending.

Now it's your turn Jess & Sara. Tag, you're it.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to my MOM today. You are a blessing to me and so many others. Thank you for your example of God's love.

Frogs

Out of the blue in the car yesterday Cooper said, "I wish I could cut a frog open and see what's inside his body."

I hope that's a sign of him wanting to be a doctor or veterinarian someday & not something creepy.

He wants to know what their bones look like because right now he doesn't even know.

Missing Marley

Our sweet chocolate lab got hit & killed just after Christmas. We're (probably mostly me) missing him. I even miss him running along the fence as I pull through the alley.

It's amazing how quickly he became a part of the family since we'd only had him since May. We'd just gotten through the naughty-puppy phase.

We sure miss the furry guy.
